Nick Martin

Nick Martin is a News Correspondent for Sky News based in Manchester. He is a seven times award winning journalist who has delivered exclusive stories and investigations both home and abroad.
 
In 2010, he was awarded TV News Story of the Year by the Foreign Press Association for a major investigation into the sale of Mexican babies to the United States by violent criminal gangs - a story which prompted a federal investigation. The Association called his reports ‘an example of extraordinary journalism in the face of great danger’. He has been honoured twice by the Royal Television Society and in 2010 was nominated for an Amnesty International Award.
 
Nick has worked on a wide range of stories affecting Britain over the past 15 years and has become well known for his use of technology to gather news. He was one of the first British journalists to shoot, edit and send full news pieces using his smartphone.
 
Before joining Sky News Nick was a Correspondent with Channel 4 News and prior to that worked as a reporter at ITN. Nick began his career at the age of 16 as a junior reporter on his local newspaper in his native city Newcastle upon Tyne.
