Gamal joined Sky News as a reporter in November 2010 and can occasionally be seen presenting Sky News from 00:00-0600.

Based in both London and the North West of England Gamal has covered a range of stories, he was one of the first reporters at the scene of the student protests in November 2010. He also reported live, in one night, from both Manchester and Liverpool, as violence spread during the August riots in 2011. 

Before working at Sky News Gamal was a reporter and presenter for ITV Granada. He has worked extensively with the British Army and during the summer of 2010 was embedded with The First Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment during a six month tour of Afghanistan.  Gamal has also worked as a reporter for ITN.

After graduating with a BA Honours from Manchester University in Politics and History Gamal went on to do a Masters Degree in International Politics before enrolling on a post graduate diploma course in Broadcast Journalism at City University. He was one of only ten candidates to be selected for the ITV News Bursary Scheme in 2005.
